Kazakhstan headed into the semi-finals

In the next quarter-final match, Germany were up against Kazakhstan.

Dominic Reinold opened the scoring for Germany in the 14th minute. Germany continued the first half against Kazakhstan in a very positive manner, but failed to find the back of the net again. Germany finished the opening half still enjoying the narrow lead.

Kazakhstan were awarded a penalty early in the second half. Kim Sippel couldn’t reach the ball this time. Assan Barlybayev converted the penalty with confidence, making it 1:1. The last 10 minutes of the thrilling game became an end-to-end game with both teams creating dangerous scoring chances, but failing to score.

Next up was the penalty shootout, the fourth one of the day, in which Kazakhstan came out on top. They will play against the Czech Republic in the semi-finals, at 11 a.m. on Saturday.

The last match of the day saw Bosnia & Herzegovina take on Montenegro. Bosnia & Herzegovina dominated most part of the first half without being able to supply a successful finishing touch to their scoring opportunities.

Like in the opening half, Bosnia & Herzegovina started the second in an aggressive manner. But none of the teams managed to break the deadlock until the end of the last quarter-final match.

At the end of the day’s fifth – and last – penalty shootout Montenegro progressed into the semi-finals, where they will face Croatia.
